Jack’s Abby comes through on Wormtown promise: Expansion slated for Worcester taproom
Wormtown isn’t going anywhere.
That was the message in April from Jack’s Abby Craft Lagers when it announced its purchase of Wormtown Brewery, hoping to reassure fans of Worcester’s oldest brewer that this city will remain its heart and soul.
“That was the most important message for us to get across,” said Sam Hendler, co-founder of Jack’s Abby and CEO of the Hendler Family Brewing Co. “We’re here. We’ve bought in. We believe Worcester will be the heartbeat and soul for Wormtown for a long time to come.”
Just a little over a month after the sale closed, the Hendler family has come through on their commitment to Wormtown and Worcester. The company has drawn up plans to expand Wormtown’s presence on Shrewsbury Street, doubling the size of its current taproom, adding an outdoor beer garden and creating more jobs along the way.
