Our Story
Uniquely Worcester
Our name is a nod to Worcester’s legendary music and art scene. Our flagship IPA, Be Hoppy, celebrates Worcester’s claim as the birthplace of the smiley face. And beers like Blizzard of ’78 and Rocket Pale Ale pay tribute to the stories that shape this city. Every Wormtown beer is rooted in local pride, creative spirit, and a work-hard attitude that defines Massachusetts.
While we’ve grown into a beloved New England brand, Worcester will always be our heart. Because beer has always been the original social network and we’re proud to be the brand that keeps people smiling.
Our Crew
Behind every great pint is an even better group of people. Our team brings the energy, hospitality, and hometown pride that make Wormtown feel like Wormtown: friendly, down-to-earth, and always ready to help you find your next favorite pour.
Wormtown Brewery came to life in the most humble of spots—an old ice cream shop on Park Ave in Worcester, MA. Fueled by passion, a little grit, and a whole lot of love for great beer, Wormtown started small but dreamed big. Before long, that tiny neighborhood brewery began making a name for itself—without ever forgetting its roots.
As the beer flowed and the community grew, so did we. We leveled up to a bigger home on Shrewsbury Street, giving us room to brew more of what you love. And in 2021, we moved to a slightly bigger taproom space at the same address, to make it easier than ever to pull up a stool and stay awhile.
We teamed up with the Hendler Family Brewing Company, bringing together shared values of family, craft, and community. While we gained some production muscle, we stayed true to who we are as a proudly Worcester-born brand through and through.
Big things on tap—literally. We unveiled our newly renovated Worcester taproom and kitchen, now twice the size and packed with a full menu of fan-favorite bites. More space, more flavor, same Wormtown spirit.
